Gestational GTT (3 specimens) after 75gm Glucose

What is Glucose Challenge Test, Pregnancy DIPSI ,75g Glucose, 2hrs?This test is done during pregnancy to screen for gestational diabetes, which is a type of diabetes that develops during pregnancy. The test works by measuring the body’s response to glucose after two hours of ingestion of 75 g glucose (flavored or plain, bought from nearby pharmacy) irrespective of the meal timings. It is recommended by the Diabetes and Pregnancy Study Group of India (DIPSI).

This test is generally advised during the second or third trimester; however women having a family history of diabetes and/or obesity, and those following a sedentary lifestyle are recommended to get this test done regularly starting from the first trimester of their pregnancy.

This test can be performed during any time of the day.
